European League season is over but there is nothing to worry about for football fans, as the biggest competition in the world is getting under way in just under a month in Brazil starting from 12 June. We have covered almost all the aspects relating FIFA World Cup on tsmplug today we are going to take a look at possible top 5 teams who are likely to score loads of goals in the world cup. The first one on the list is Brazil, playing at home ground with so much talent they are certainly the ones every football fan will be looking to watch.
#1. Brazil
Brazil did not get much of competitive football taste since their confederations cup victory a year ago, but they did surpass expectations and certainly installed more expectations from the fans heading into the fifa world cup. They are odds on favourties (3/1) to lift the trophy for the 6th time and that for a good reason.
Going forward they are deadly, With the likes of Neymar, Hulk, Fred leading the line they also have quality midfielders who can chop in for a odd goal. They are playing against Croatia, Cameroon and Mexico and we can expect tough game against Croatia but they have enough firepower to score more than 2 goals against Cameroon and Mexico. If they top the group A they are likely to face holland in the next round.
#2. Argentina
According to latest odds in the betting market Argentina are the 2nd favourites to go all the way and win 2014 World Cup, leading a very quality attacking unit messi will be the key for argentina play, national team coach Alejandro Sabella has installed a system where attacking talents of Messi, Aguero and Di Maria can work together.
Javier Mascherano will be playing as a holding midfielder to give a little more protection to the front 3 players while the defence is pretty solid as well. If Lionel Messi is on form and Aguero can find his shooting boots Argentina can rip teams apart specialy in the group stages where they will be playing against the likes of Nigeria, Iran and Bosnia.
#3. Holland
For some strange reason Holland is not being considered as the title contenders and the 2010 finalists have pretty solid starting lineup with Van Persie (if fit) leading the line and players like Robben and Jeremain Lens will be playing on the wings. While 2010 world cup player of the tournament wesley sneider is the one who will pull the strings in midfield. Holland played a perfect qualifying campaign winning all their qualifying games with Van Persie topping to scoring charts.
Holland can be deadly going forward, specialy on fast counter attacks as they have shown in 2008 euros and 2010 world cup. Its just the matter of keeping players fit and happy. They have goals in them all over the park and we can expect some good showing in the world cup.
#4. Uruguay
Probably the best goal scoring centre forward in the world at the moment, Luis Suarez will leading the attack for uruguay and his partner in crime are Edinson Cavani and 2010 world cup top scorer Diego Forlan. They did not had the best confederations cup but their quality of their squad if in top form is pretty much irresistable.
Suarez finished as the top goal scorer in premier leauge and by a mile having played far less games due to early season ban, his goal scoring ratios is almost run a game. They kind of form he is in I can see a couple of good goal scoring games for Uruguay and I can expect them to pip either Italy or England for a place in the knockout stages.
#5. Belgium
Another quality European outfit, dark horses or the outsider whatever you would like to call them. Belgium has a quality squad all around the pitch. They have two superb and inform strikers like Christian Benteke and Lakuku while Eden Hazard is their top player who finished as the highest goal scorer for Chelsea in 2013-14 season.
They are playing against the likes of Russia, Korea and Algeria. I can see goals in them and I am fully confident they will top this group and will face Portugal or germany whoever finish runner in their group.
