Man city took on West Ham in the capital one cup 2014 semifinal first leg and it was a game where Manchester City ran out comfortable winners by 5-0 and almost book their place in the final against either Manchester United or Sunderland. Sam Allerdyce side has to do a miracle to get back into the tie in 2nd leg on 21 January 2014. Manuel Pelligri started with a strong side and it paid dividends when Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo scored twice inside the first 30 minutes of the game to get city of to a flyer.
Yaya Toure scored before the break to kill the tie off and put City in commanding position going into the 2nd half. One more goal from Negredo made it 4-0 before Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko made it 5-0 and rapped up the match and tie as well with just a formality to do in the 2nd leg. Now Sam allerdyc is under massive pressure going into the 2nd half of the season. Looking at city’s lineup in this game its very hard not to tip them to go all the way and win the Capital one cup event if United are able to turn their tie around and reach final.
