Liverpool will be looking to build on their very impressive finish to the last season where after starting slowly in the league they put together quite a few good results to finish 7th in the league, which of course not what fans want to see them at but their performences after Suarez was banned have been very decent to say the least. Now can they retain the services of Suarez or not, thats remain to be seen but one thing is for sure to keep the pace at the top of the table they need to start Premier League season 2013-14 on the high.
Liverpool History and Success Story:
“you will never walk alone”
Liverpool are one of the most successfull clubs in Europe, formed back in 1892 Liverpool got promotion to Division 2 and won it in the first season, while they won the first League Division one title in 1901 and added a few more before the world war 1, it was the Bill shanky era after 1959 when Liverpool started to dominate and they have won 5 European Cups, 18 League titles, 7 FA Cup and 8 League Cups and adding to that 3 UEFA Cups making them the most successfull English Club
Liverpool most expensive signing is Andy Carrol who joined them from Newcastle United for record, £35 million in 2011, while their biggest sale is of prolific striker Fernando Torres who was sold to Chelsea for around £50 million in the same transfer window as Carrol was bought. Liverpool last big noteable trophy was Champions League which they won in 2005 but they are not the same force as they use to be in Europe and in the league as well off late.
Liverpool 2013-14 Season Preview:
Liverpool finished 7th In the league last season and they will be looking to turn things aroun this time, they have bought in couple of good young players but they are finding it hard to convince Luiz Suarez to stay at the club as Arsenal and Real Madrid are lurking to snap up Suarez.
Under Brendan Rodgers Liverpool showed some progress of the youth project, where they gave young players a good run in the Premier League last season and if they can build on their impressive ending to the last season they can challenge the Top 4 alongside Tottenham Hotspurs.
