Liverpool who were on top of the table two weeks ago, had to play two back to back big games. first they got beaten by Manchester City on boxing day by 2-1 than they lost against Chelsea with the same scoreline at stamford bridge on 29th december 2013. Now they were coming up against Hull City at home and Hull already beaten Liverpool earlier in the season by 3-1 so this fixture on new year’s day meant alot to Liveprool.
Brandon Rodgers side knew they had to win this match to keep pace with the top 3 teams in the league and they started the game pretty strong and first break through came in 36th minute of the match when danish defender Daniel Agger scored to give Liverpool a 1-0 lead while Suarez who got booked with yellow card got on to scoresheet and made it 2-0 for Liverpool and won them all three poitns.
