Everton are just one poind behind Arenal in 5th place with a game in hand, after their massive 3-0 win over the gunners. Champions League place is well and truely in their sights.
A massive game in the premier league for the race for top 4 finish and it was Arsenal vs Everton and it was widely tauted as the top 4 playoff in the league. Arsenal going into this match were totaly out of sorts, after a superb start to the season their form as gone downhill rapidly since the start of 2014, Everton on the other hand are playing some of the best football and out of their skin.
It was real test of characters who wants it more and Everton started the game brightly at Goddison park with Steven Naismith poking home a rebounde of Lakuku shot which was saved by Arsenal keeper. Evertom doubled their lead just just after the half hour mark when striker Lakuku made it 2-0 and Everton went into the break with 2-0 lead and comfortable.
Arsenal never looked threatning in this game and they did not offer any real width and running behind the defence, Kevin Mirallas scored after the break to put the game to bed and all three points which takes Everton just 1 point behind gunners and with a game in hand. Now Arsenal can not afford to drop points and if Everton win all their game the will be playing Champions League next season. Superb stuff from Roberto Martinez side.
