England Nations Team Coch: Roy Hodgson

Massive experience in coaching both on club and international level, but he does not have a style apart from keeping the team compact and make them work hard. Hodgson likes to play with conventional style of 4-4-2 with wingers running down the flanks all day. Under him England have been decent, not playing wise but in terms of results.

Possible Starting Lineup:

england squad 2014 world cupHodgson has kind of shifted towards the modern 4-2-3-1 formation in the last few qualifying games which helped them to get results. we can expect the same in the group games having said that, England do have players to change the system back to 4-4-2 anytime during game.

Key Player: Wayne Rooney

England will be hoping to get Rooney fully fit before the world cup, he is head and shoulders above any other player in the line up and If england were to qualify for the later stages he has to come good.

Youngster to look forward to: Ross Barkley &Adam Lallana & Rahim Sterling

Barkley had a superb season with everton who narrowly missed out on top 4 finish, He might start alongside Gerrard in the midfield. While Adam Lallana had a breakthrough season with Southampton and he will be eager to put up a few good performances to get his stock ever higher.

Rahim Sterling of course is one of the best young players in premier league this season, he might not start any game but Hodgson will surely use him as a sub.

England Schedule in World Cup:

  1. Italy (14June)
  2. Uruguay (19 June)
  3. Costa Rica (24 June)
