Marcelo forced an own goal to give Croatia early leading in the world cup opener, but Brazil’s golden boy Neymar scored a peach of a goal to make it 1-1 on the night.

Brazil took on Croatia in the opening game of 2014 world cup and the home support was great at the Sao Paulo arena, Brazil started the game with keeping more of the ball but Croatia showed glimps of what they can do with couple of quick counter attacks. The first goal came through Marcelo who put the ball in his own goal to give Croatia a surprise lead in 11th minute.

Brazil started to see even more of the ball after going 1-0 down as Croatia were willing to sit back and absorb the pressure and try to hit home side on the counters. Neymar was given a yellow card for elbowing Modric and on any other day it could have been a red card. Though straight after the yellow card indcided Neymar scored with a low left footed drive in the bottom corner to make it 1-1 on the night.
The game was 1-1 at the break and Brazil looked much the better side after getting back on lever terms, After the break Neymar scored another goal but this time from a spot kick to send home fans into frenzy.
