France played extremely well to qualify for the knockout stages of 2014 world cup having defeating Honduras and Switzerland scoring 8 goals in the process but their 0-0 draw against ecuador was somthing to worry about for the French Fans. They came up against a highly rated Nigerian side, probably the best African team in the world cup and it was a game where France were suppose to struggle againt the pace of Nigeria front three.
The game started on a slow note with both teams keeping themselves tight at the back, Nigerians were up for this game and the matched France in every department. Just like the few earlier round of 16 ties game finished 0-0 at the break and although it was not the best 0-0 you will ever see but it was entertaining.
Paul Pogba was the pick of the players and he certainly added a few millions on his value with his staller performance in the midfield. France went into the game with Giroud and Benzema leading the attack upfront but Giroud was poor as he was replaced by Griezmann in the 2nd half.
Paul Pogba was pick of the players and it was invitable that he is going to have some imact on this game. As the things turned out he scored through a weak header from a corner to book France play against either Germany or Algeria in the next round.
Griezmann made it 2-0 and rapped up the quarter-final place for French side who will be waiting for the other game tonight to see their opponents in either Germany or Algeria.
