Arsenal were hoping to get back to the top of the league with a win on new year’s day against Cardiff City, but it was not to be as home side put up a real show in front of home crowd and the owner Tan and new manager Ole Gunner Solskaer who was sitting beside Tan in the vip box. Arsenal started the match pretty strong but the absense of a few key players realy hurt Arsenal’s chances of getting away with a win.
Arsenal defender Per Mertasacker was the first to go into referee’s book with a yellow card to his name and since many of Arsenal first team players were not part of the team they struggle to creat chances like they use to. But a very late goal from Nicklas Bendtner who came out as a substitute in 2nd half got all three points for Arsenal and now they will go top of the table.
