Atletico Madrid came from 1-0 down to draw level 1-1 and managed to restrict barcelona for snatching La Liga title, Atletico Madrid are the new Spanish Champions, now can they go a level up and become European Champions ?
In what turned out to be a title decided game on the last day of the Spanish football top flight, barcelona took on Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou on Saturday afternoon. Atletico Madrid needed just a draw to get their hands on La Liga title while FC barcelona had a chance to win the league if they could defeat Atletico in the last game of the season.
Barcelona started the game pretty strong and Diego Simone side struggle in early exchanges. Diego Costa got injured and was replaced by raul garcia while Arda Turan also hurt himself leading another substitution in the opening half of the game. Barcelona scored through Alexie Sanchez in 33rd minute for the delight of home crowd but Atletico were still in it as they just needed a goal to get back on top of the table.
At the break score was 1-0 in Barcelona favour and things were looking pretty thin for Atletico, but Diego Simone side are a having a staller season and everybody knew they wont give up that easily. After the break Atletico just hammered Barcelona and created 3-4 quick chances but failed to score and finaly Diego Godin converted a corner into a goal with bullet like header.
