Heart break for Jose Mourinho men and the fans as Atletico Madrid put three past the chelsea and win the semifinal tie with relative ease. Torrest scored against his old club to put Chelsea on course but Atletico were rampant on either side of the half-time.
It was Fernando Torres who put Chelsea 1-0 up much for the delight of home fans at Stamford Bridge where atmosphere was electric, Jose Mourinho put together a plan where Chelsea attack Atletico in the first half and generaly had the upper hand. But just before the break things changed as Adrian scored after scramble in the Chelsea box to make it 1-1 and that away goal put Atletico ahead.
After the break Moruinho sent out Samue Eto’o 5 minutes into 2nd half and he proved to be the culprit when he gave away a silly penalty at the edge of Chelsea box. Diego Coasta scored to make it 2-1 and end the contest effectively. Things got bad to worse for Chelsea when Arda Turan scored in 72nd minute to make it 3-1 and put Atletico in the final against city rivals Real Madrid, the final will be played on 24 May 2014.
