Uruguay team squad 2013

Uruguay Coach: Oscar Tabarez AKA “El Maestro”

Tabarez is 66 year old who has wealth of experience in managment, and he has been with Uruguay national side since 2006 world cup. He likes his side to be flexible, Uruguay normaly play with 4-4-2 under Tabarez but they can switch to 3 man defence as well if they want to counter opposition tactics.

Likely Starting Lineup for Uruguay in WC 2014:

Uruguay team squad 2014 world cupIf all three strikers are fit Uruguay are likely to go with Suarez and Cavani upfront while Forlan might play in left sided midfield or the attacking midfield role. Tabarez has kind of transformed Uruguay from a traditional tough tackling unit to a free flowing side which can be handfull against any side.

Suarez is probably one of the best striker and finisher in world game today, he will be key to Uruguay chances and they will be hoping he can emulate what Forland did in 2010 world cup. He can drop back, play off the soulder of last defender, score goals and creat as well.

Young Player To watch Out for: Abel Hernandez

Abel Hernandez is at the right age of 23 to take World cup by storm, 23 year old striker was part of confed cup squad and scored 4 goals in one game. He is currently playing for palermo.
